Description

DUTIES:
- Perform construction completion and final inspections of roadways, municipal utilities, and municipal land development to ensure compliance with the Citys Municipal Development Standards;
- Assist with small-scale functional, preliminary and detailed design drawings for municipal engineering projects related to roadways, municipal utilities, and municipal land development using AutoCAD CIVIL 3D;
- Provide professional services including small-scale design and construction management to other civic departments under the direction of the Branch Manager;
- Provide assistance to the Branch Manager with administration of all aspects of construction contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, local, provincial and federal ordinances and occupational health and safety regulations;
- Perform construction supervision duties for municipal engineering projects related to roadways, municipal utilities, and municipal land development including keeping records of on-site activities and discussions, and providing updates to the Branch Manager;
- Perform surveys as required using conventional survey equipment, including GPS, for municipal engineering projects related to roadways, municipal utilities, and municipal land development;
- Assist with construction layout and inspection on small-scale municipal engineering projects related to roadways, municipal utilities, and municipal land development;

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized two-year post-secondary Civil Engineering Program.  Must be a member of, or eligible for membership with ASET or SASTT.  

Must be able to operate conventional and electronic survey and data-collection equipment and produce, read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.  

The candidate will have demonstrated skill in using AutoCAD CIVIL 3D, and possess a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operators License, with a clean drivers abstract.
