The Southwest Booster, part of TC Media, is a reliable daily source of news and information for the Swift Current region that prides itself in providing readers with a well-rounded local news package, with an emphasis on the people, issues, and events that has an effect on the community.

We currently have an opening for a Full-Time Reporter. Your overall objective will be to produce content on the issues and stories that resonate with the community. Reporting to the Managing Editor, you will be a member of a small editorial team responsible for meeting deadlines and exceeding the expectations of online and print readers.

Duties include:
Covering a broad spectrum of issues and beats
Reporting on events throughout the region
Taking photos to accompany stories

Qualifications:
Completed diploma or degree from an accredited journalism program or strong writing and storytelling abilities
Strong working knowledge of Mac computer systems
Strong photography skills

Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience in the journalism field
Experience covering a wide variety of general news events
Strong working knowledge of media website back ends
Strong knowledge and experience with various social media platforms
