Description

Sing Like A STAR Studios (SLAS) is a music program that provides group and private singing lessons to students in kindergarten to adult in the Regina area. SLAS teaches basic singing skills through the use of popular music. The program operates at the Regina Performing Arts Centre and is home to 10 instructors and approximately 250 students.

SLAS is seeking an organized, detail-orientated General Manager to oversee the daily activities and long-term goals of their singing program. The majority of this job would be done independently, working from home and provides very flexible hours. However, as the face of the company, the General Manager would attend most student concerts (twice per year on evenings and weekends). The position of General Manager does not need to be filled by someone with an extensive background in music, as this is more of a business role within the company.

Weekly tasks could include the following:
(please note: training can be provided in most of the below areas)
-Advertising through means of posters, online ads, social media, e-newsletters, etc.
-Human resources tasks such as recruiting capable instructors, scheduling staff and students, training new and current instructors, updating policies, procedures and instructor manuals, and providing feedback to instructors
-Computer related tasks such as updating our pre-designed website, working with Microsoft Word and Excel programs, ensuring use of proper email etiquette and managing the PayPal business account
-Admininstrative tasks such as participant registration, parental communications, general accounting, invoicing, designing concert programs
-Miscellaneous tasks include assisting in the expansion of SLAS, concert planning and logistics, organizing ticket sales and fundraising initiatives.
