Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyperson Welder in the Mine Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
Support safety and continuous improvement programs.
Perform required work in a heavy industrial work environment.
Maintenance and repair of equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
Maintain and support equipment records and repair history.
Provide data for cause and failure analysis.
Take part in planning and scheduling within work systems.
Fabricate and repair structural steel.
Qualifications of the position include:
Interprovincial Journeyperson Welder Certificate.
Current CWB Certification in SMAW All-Position.
Additional welding Certifications
Understands welding principles, including rod selection and pre/post theory
Excellent Fabrication skills
Capability to work with minimum supervision
Interpretation of Blue prints/ shop drawings.
Knowledge of CSA W59/W47.1 would be beneficial.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
