This position often works with organizations such as schools, community centers, before and after school programs, rugby clubs, churches and multisport organizations to deliver Rookie Rugby initiatives relating to physical literacy and physical education requirements. They distribute information and organize rugby projects, camps, programs and instructor training.
-Obtaining an extensive knowledge of the Rookie Rugby program including the curriculum, resources and materials, online resources, etc.
-To become familiar with Rookie Rugbys role in the Provincial strategic plan and develop a full understanding of their respective Provincial Unions Rookie Rugby Operational Plan.
-Coordinating, delivering and promoting relevant activities, classes and events, often within a specific community or to targeted groups.
-Identifying appropriate groups for the recruitment of volunteers. Working with these groups to employ, train, support, develop and manage throughout their activities.
-Evaluating and monitoring activities and projects using performance indicators. Reporting progress through online reporting and written reports to Provincial Unions and Rugby Canada.
-Attending local, regional and national meetings, seminars and conferences, as needed.
-Working in partnership with school initiatives to encourage participation in rugby. Working with school administration to get Rookie Rugby adopted into school curriculum and activities.
-Managing resources and a budget.
