What does a Nurse Practice Officer do?
You'll support registered nurses. Youll provide consultative, advisory, education and advocacy services to Saskatchewan registered nurses about professional practice. Youll use the Nursing Advisory and Independent Assessment Committee process to improve patient care and working conditions. Your toolkit will be built from your practice experience and research into best nursing practices. Youll provide leadership advice for SUN members in their workplaces.
Are you the right person for the job?
You are if you live and breathe professional practice. You are an RN, RPN, or RN(NP) with extensive experience in a variety of practice settings and clinical research. You are passionate about addressing nurse practice issues, workload, and patient and nurse safety. You focus on using best practices, research and evidence to build arguments. You bring razor sharp nursing instincts. And you are passionate about healthcare and believe in trade union principles.

The Fine Print: This is a temporary position until November 4, 2016, with possibility of renewal. The role is a job share, working 35 hours in a two-week period (Wed-Fri one week; Mon-Tues the second week).
Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in nursing. Eligible for licensure with the SRNA or RPNAS. Demonstrated clinical research experience. Five to seven years experience in a variety of practice settings. All candidates must pass written testing requirements established for the position.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work
- Eligible for licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work
