YWCA Regina's Kikinaw Women's Residence, a 54 bed long term supportive housing program, is seeking a Case Worker to deliver our Day Parole Program and our Teen Independent Living program. Responsibilities include:
- providing support and structure for up to 5 women living in the Residence who are serving Day Parole, which includes case planning, support services, counselling, and liaising with Correctional Service of Canada.
- Providing support and structure for up to 4 girls ages 16-17 living in our Residence who are learning to live independently.
- Working with the Residence Team to support tenants in the Residence in a variety of ways
- Maintaining good records, communication with the team, and submitting monthly reports
- Frequent, clear communication with staff in other related YWCA departments
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma related to Human Services. A combination of education and experience will be considered
- understanding of issues related to homelessness, violence, mental health, addictions, and other determinants of health for women
- experience working with women with complex needs and a history of trauma
- knowledge of the criminal justice system and a background in reintegration an asset
- experience managing multiple demands in a fast paced environment, self-directed work style, calm demeanor, strong sense of empathy/compassion, and non-judgemental attitude
- training in crisis intervention, suicide intervention, de-escalating violent situations, and Motivational Interviewing or willingness to build skills in these areas
- Valid First Aid/CPR, Class 5 Drivers License, criminal record check
30 hours per week M-F, daytime hours. Some evening work may be required
