The Funding and Public Relations Coordinator is the society's representative to the public. Main duties include but are not limited to:
-Media Relations - including social media
-Write and coordinate educational programs
-Organize large and small scale fundraising events
Successful candidate must:
-Self-directed with a high level of complexity
-Weekend and evening work is sometimes required with time off in lieu
-Must possess a valid driver's license and have own reliable transportation
-Must have a genuine interest and concern for the overall well being of animals and demonstrate empathy and compassion for shelter animals
-Extremely professional and have the ability to manage people
-Display skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
-Undergraduate degree and/or related diploma in a related field (Marketing, Public or Community Relations Event Planning)
-Alternately; Three years previous experience in special events planning or organizing volunteers would be an asset
-Proven track record in developing and implementing promotion plans
-Complete proficiency in the MIcrosoft Office suite of programs and exceptional word processing skills with competency in the use of spreadsheets, data bases, and word processing and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports as required
-Experience and comfort with public speaking/speaking to the media
This is a full time position with flexible hours, some weekend and evenings involved with days off in lieu.
