The Saskatchewan 4-H Council is seeking a highly motivated, creative, flexible team member to work with members and volunteers in community-based 4-H clubs in North Eastern Saskatchewan in the position of REGIONAL 4-H SPECIALIST (SW).
The Regional 4-H Specialist coordinates with 4-H clubs within 1 of 4 4-H Regions, while developing and delivering regional programming. The Regional 4-H Specialist works as a team with three other Regional 4-H Specialists, as well as other provincial office staff, to coordinate provincial 4-H programming.
Accountabilities:
1. establishing contact with potential volunteer leaders
2. giving presentations on the 4-H program
3. providing guidance, support, and training at multiple administrative levels
4. developing, implementing, and evaluating programs
5. and attending meetings, conferences, programs and events.
Education and Experience:
1. related degree or diploma (HR, Education, Youth Development) or the equivalent in directly-related work experience
2. a strong background in working with youth, coordinating volunteers, and youth-focused program development and delivery
Skills and Requirements:
1. superior interpersonal and communication skills
2. excellent writing and presentation skills
3. self-directed individual with ability to work in a team environment
4. working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
5. 4-H experience is a strong asset.
6. A demonstrable understanding of Positive Youth Development is an asset
7. Experience writing grant applications is an asset
This is a full-time, permanent position. Evening and weekend work and travel will be required occasionally. Must have valid drivers license, reliable transportation and be able to travel. A criminal record check will be required.
