Wallace Construction Specialties Ltd. is an established building supply distributor and are continuing to grow and expand our business.  We are currently seeking a Junior Purchaser to add to our growing company with the potential to move into the senior purchaser position over the next few years. We offer a competitive salary with benefits and very generous profit sharing.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- To get the best value when procuring goods and services in terms of quality, reliability, price and delivery.
- Assisting in day-to-day procurement operations.
- Sourcing and purchasing materials as required.
- Negotiate effectively with suppliers to obtain best value.
- Produce purchase orders from requests/requisitions and expediting to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage purchase orders through to close-out and resolve any associated queries on a timely basis.
- To identify and address issues related to the procurement process, escalating unresolved issues to the Supervisor.
- Negotiate damage claims
-  Interaction with all levels within the organization

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Grade 12 education
- degree in business would be considered an asset but not required
- Minimum 1 year experience in the construction industry would be preferred
- Strong mathematical skills
- Accurate and precise with above average organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
- Self-starter and the ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills
- Quick learner
-  Work well under authority of the senior purchaser
