Job Purpose: Overall responsibility for a new facility operation. Processing of speciality grains and pulses to export standards.
Duties:
- begin now to assist with bringing this new state of the art facility online in September 2015.
- establishes processing operational strategies; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; resolving problems; implementing change.
- delivers customer-acceptable products by enforcing quality standards; originates and oversees purchasing, processing and shipment of all products from the facility
- improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes
- plans operations by collecting relevant information; identifying short-term and long-range issues; identifying and evaluating options; choosing a course of action. Works in conjunction with marketing team.
- maximizes equipment operation by developing and scheduling preventative maintenance; organizing change-overs and improvements to infrastructure
- keeps materials available by scheduling product and human resources, monitoring equipment, and adjusting deliveries. Experienced in grain buying and grading
- accomplishes organization mission by arranging efficient processing and logistical flow as needed.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude related to grain processing.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years experience
- Promoting process improvement, documentation skills, grain processing methods and procedures, quality control, production planning, technical management, safety management, computer skills, coaching skills, human resource management
- Willing to travel outside Saskatoon area on a temporary basis to gain experience at existing facilities while new facility completed.
