Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc is seeking to fill the following position:

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Provide leadership to human resource activities resulting in their most effective utilization and thereby contributing to the achievement of the mission, vision and goals of the operation.

Scope:
The incumbent reports to the General Manager and as a member of the leadership team, plays a significant role in implementation of world class manufacturing and global business initiatives and formulation and implementation of appropriate human resource policies, programs and procedures to meet strategic business requirements, and improve the utilization of people assets.

Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic Human Resources leadership in the development and direction of HR programs and leads HR change efforts
- Supports General Manager in implementing and evaluating internal safety system
- Provides functional guidance to the leadership team in various employee systems: managing workforce diversity, employment equity, employee assistance programs and performance management
- Develops and implements compensation, pension & benefits plans and oversees payroll department
- Provides leadership to ensure the company attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results

Qualifications:
- University degree in a related subject and a broad background of functional HR experience at a management level
- Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching abilities
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment will be an advantage
- Union experiences in labor relations a must
- Minimum 10+ years experience at an HR Management level, with Pulp and Paper industry experience will be an advantage
