Summer Student JobPart Time position starting June 30th to August 23rd
(15 - 30hrs per week)
The Town of Rosthern is looking for an energetic and responsible youth or young adult to help with the implementation of a new summer parks program. The Summer Youth Program Assistant Coordinator is a part time position and will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of all program activities. This position will answer directly to the Summer Program Coordinator and the Recreation Manager. Experience working with children is not required but considered an asset.
Qualifications
Must be at least of 15 years of age.
Must be a returning student, secondary or post-secondary (Fall 2014)
Knowledge, experience or have a high interest level in Sport and Recreation Programming
Experience working in a camp, or instructing setting
Mature, good with children and youth
Must have current First Aid/CPR
* Successful candidate must provide criminal record check
Responsibilities
Directly responsible to Programs Coordinator, and Recreation Manager
Help co-ordinate activities aimed at children and youth in the community
Lead and instruct sports, crafts & other activities
Encourage active participation, and positive relationship building between participants
Supervision of children aged 5 + during activity times
Maintain accurate daily logs, along with Activities Leader
