Type: Temporary Part Time

Facility: MEADOW LAKE HOME CARE

Department: MLHC-ADMINISTRATION

Hours of Work: In a 6 week rotation: 12 shifts of 8.00 hours

Salary or Pay Band: $38.080 to $47.490 (6 step range)

Job summary:
The NUC will provide assistance in the form of indirect nursing care and will be responsible to ensure appropriate utilization of and referrals to Home Care. They will provide a leadership role that encourages and maintains a high standard of best practice and ethical care that is followed by all members of the interdisciplinary team.
They are accountable for the ongoing determination of care needs and services for Home Care nursing clients within PNRHA. The delivery of client care is consistent with the policies, vision, and mission and health outcome goals of the region.

The NUC is accountable for day to day clinical supervision of the nursing staff in Meadow Lake, Goodsoil and Loon Lake.

The NUC will promote good interpersonal relations amongst the Home Care staff and other health care workers within Home Care. They will maintain good public relations and communication with families, volunteers and the community.

Experience: Minimum one(1) year recent Home Care nursing experience

Required Qualifications:
  Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
  Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  Knowledge of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and co-operate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships and to achieve client, team and organizational goals with available resources.
  Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.
  Sound nursing judgment and initiative.
  Demonstrated flexibility, creativity and self-direction.
  Good interpersonal and communications skills.
  Basic computer skills with willingness to advance as needed.
