Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer focusing on labor reduction through process improvement for our Agricultural Products division.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible  for implementing improvements to manufacturing processes that result in both product and operational cost reduction, and improvements in product quality. This is a hands- on position that involves direct involvement with all production and manufacturing personnel, as well as the Shop Manager, Production Supervisor, and Engineering staff.

- Assist in the development of a cost effective build-to-order manufacturing system, providing input on the rationalization of each product line from a manufacturing perspective.

- Provide input on existing and new product design, from a manufacturing perspective, streamlining the transition from prototype to production model.  Assist in developing and implementing the required quality check sheets and go-no-go jigs to ensure a consistent quality product every time they are produced.

- Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principals, tools, and practices by teaching, training, and empowering all employees, instilling a culture change towards continuous improvement through the elimination of waste, in the eyes of the customer.



QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

- Familiar with Quality and Lean Principles
- Must be able to read shop drawings and production orders
- Uses measuring instruments
- Uses excel, word and other computer programs
- Works independently on assigned projects
- Must be well organized with multi-tasking abilities
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in CAD/CAM (preferably Solidworks)
- GMAW Welding Experience preferable
- Mechanical Technologist or Engineering degree required
- Training supplied as required
