Description

Camp Monahan is searching for an enthusiastic Assistant Camp Director. The successful applicant will have good leadership abilities, a strong love of children, nature and camp life, as well as strong administrative skills. As a part of this 12-week seasonal position, you will work alongside the Executive and Camp Director to organize and run a 6-week camping season for children and youth aged 6-15. The Assistant Camp Director will oversee a staff of approximately 15 people and will deal directly with the campers on a day-to-day basis. It is essential that this applicant has strong administrative skills as they will be responsible for undergoing administrative duties to ensure camp runs smoothly on a daily basis. The Assistant Camp Director will ensure weekly themes are incorporated into daily activities during programs and group gatherings.  The applicant will also oversee weekly promotional merchandise sold at Camp Monahan and accurate book keeping. Prior to the camping season, the Assistant Director will help the Camp Director to organize and run promotional activities and events as well as organizing staff orientation. This includes scheduling and running approximately 30 school tours promoting Camp.

This position answers directly to the Executive and Camp Director. Strong communication and administrative skills with aptitude for paying attention to detail and process to ensure that the camping season runs smoothly, experience with camping and children are considered assets to this position. First Aid, CPR C, a criminal records check, and a valid drivers license are required.
