There is a current ministry opportunity open for a temporary part time position as a Youth Care Leader in our Uturn group home in Moose Jaw. This position provides an opportunity to work hands-on with youth aged 15 -18 in a group home setting. It is ideal for a person who is people-focused, responsible, and has a passion for guiding young people. The right candidate will be experienced and/or educated in working with youth or young adults in a supportive environment.
Overview:
Assessing and Planning
- Ability to assess referral information and partake in screening
interviews
- Ability to build a support plan for and with a youth
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Participation quarterly case meetings
- Ability to communicate professionally with support and referral
agencies
Relationship building and Support
- Ability to build trusted relationships with youth
- Ability to motivate and empower youth towards success
- Ability to support youth in problem solving and behavior choices
- Assist youth to create and meet goals
- Support youth with any day-to-day activity that they may require
