Description

Education:
- Life Skills Coach/and or experience teaching life skills.
- Experience working with community based organizations.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of First Nations Culture & History
- Knowledge of community based organizations
- Knowledge & role of the Children's Advocate Office
- Knowledge of Residential Care & Standards Policy
- Knowledge of  the Customary Standards of Care Document
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to establish healthy & respectful relationships with children & youth
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work with high risk youth
- Superior communication skills
- Computer skills
Conditions of Employment:

Other Information:

Main Duties:
- Complete a needs and interest assessment with each new resident.
- Advocate on the youths behalf within education, court and community
- Primary contact for dispute resolution between the youth and community programs.
- Responsible for obtaining funding approvals from MSS Workers for individualized programming. Examples: tutoring, sports, clubs, music lesson and cultural activities.
- Develop a list of organizations in the city of Regina that could provide support to the residents.
- Connect youth with cultural programming and services
- Set up school placements and attend with youth if required for the first few days if required.
- Work in conjunction with program staff on helping youth prepare for independence
- Transport youth to appointments and school if required.
- Adhere to all 4DCFS Inc. policy & procedure manuals
- Attend staff meetings, training & workshops, other duties as requested by immediate supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
