Description

Located in Saskatoon and reporting to the Retail Facilities Manager  Technical Services, responsibilities for this position include the following:

1. Assist with refrigeration responsibilities for Retail Co-op food stores, convenience stores and liquor stores including site visits, cost estimates, writing specifications, preparing tender documents, obtaining quotations, evaluating tenders, follow-up during construction and post audits.
2. Prepare detailed lighting layouts and specifications for new facilities, renovation projects and stand-alone lighting upgrades.
3. Assist with research and analysis of new products, keep current with new lighting technologies, and update lighting specifications as new products and systems are adopted.
4. Assist with maintenance, energy and image initiatives at Retail Co-op facilities throughout Western Canada.
5. Provide, recommend and assist retails with implementing energy saving measures to reduce operating costs.
6. Identify and co-ordinate utility rebate programs, and serve as the liaison between the retails and utility companies.
7. Conduct blueprint reviews to ensure that electrical and mechanical systems are designed correctly such as heating, air conditioning, and lighting.
8. Conduct shop drawing reviews of refrigeration systems to ensure proper design and equipment layouts.
9. Assist with technical analysis and administrative assignments such as keeping track of utility rebate programs and energy supply agreements.
