Facility: BATTLEFORDS HOME CARE

Department: BHC-ADULT DAY CARE

Hours of Work: In a 1 week rotation: 5 shifts of 7.50 hours

Salary or Pay Band: Salary and benefits as per terms and conditions of employement

Job Summary:
  The Manager Adult Day Program and Recreation - River Heights Lodge, in conjunction with the Home Care Manager & Facility Manager River Heights Lodge, is accountable for the day-to-day management of the Adult Day Program and Recreation Program by ensuring the effective, efficient and economical utilization of resources to meet the needs of the residents and staff while maintaining a high quality of care for the residents. The provision of high quality of care to residents/clients/families is achieved by effectively and efficiently assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and plans according to individual and family care needs, and in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, and policies of PNRHA.

Experience:
  Three (3) years experience as a Therapeutic Recreation Therapist
  Experience in the Continuing Care setting is an asset
  Several years of management experience and knowledge of the budgetary process an asset

Required Qualifications:
  Diploma in Recreation Therapy/Therapeutic Recreaction

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  Knowledge of acute and chronic illness, disease process development, aging process and their impact on the functioning of an individual.
  Computer skills
  Oral and written communication
  Excellent interpersonal skills
  Ability to work with a wide variety of people including staff, residents, families, care providers and other management personnel
  Knowledge of the Collective Agreement process and labour relations is an asset
  Ability to work indivually
  Ability to utilize sound judgment in problem solving and decision making
  Ability to take initiative
  Ability to work under time constraints
