Description

Michels Canada has an opportunity for an experienced Labourer-Piping. Working with a field crew, the Labourers will perform tasks specific to the layout, installation, and operation of a dewatering system on our construction job site in Saskatoon, SK. Various job duties include load and unload pipe and building materials, assists with site layout, dig trenches, assemble wellpoint and well dewatering piping systems, and jetting wellpoints. Other job duties include physical manual labour, setting braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, communicate with other crew members to get work completed, and adhere to safety practices and procedures. Applicants must also be able to lift more than 45kg bags of powered bentonite and 23kg bags of cement and gravel. Work outdoors and in confined spaces.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and at least 3 months of experience in dewatering construction. Experience in bypass pumping, slurry trench construction, ground water remediation, and well drilling is required. Experience operating various tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and surveying and measuring equipment required. Candidates must have a Valid Class 5 drivers license. Must be or become a member of the LIUNA Local Union. Driving record check and drug test required.
