Description

A secure, high quality, reliable water supply is our priority. A $23 million upgrade to our water system was completed in 2012. Leading a dedicated, qualified team of professionals, the Water Treatment Plant Manager will oversee a fully redeveloped, modern water treatment facility.

This full-time permanent position is responsible for the day-to-day management, operations and maintenance of the town's water systems with primary emphasis on the Kindersley Water Treatment Plant. The Manager supervises all aspects of the supply and treatment of water including laboratory analysis, process control, reporting, administering personnel, budgeting, and cost control. The Water Treatment Manager is also responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, disciplinary action and performance evaluation of water treatment plant personnel.

Required Education / Operator Certification:
Grade 12 plus a minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in the field of water, engineering or science is an asset. Experience and/or a combination of education and experience may be considered to fill this requirement provided all necessary certification can be achieved.  
Valid class 5 Drivers License, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, TDG Certificate required.  Pesticide Applicators Permit and Fireman's Certificate are an asset.
Class II Water Treatment Certification is mandatory with a strong preference for Class III certification or willingness/ ability to obtain advanced certification.

Required Experience:
Successful applicants will have directly related, recent and verifiable supervisory experience, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of water treatment in a surface water plant of comparable or larger capacity.

Ideal candidate will have strong and transferable supervisory and leadership skills.
