Description

The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) is seeking a highly motivated individual for an Accounting Technician position. This is a term position for a period of 13 months to start approximately May 1, 2015.

SARM is an independent association that represents rural municipal government in Saskatchewan. The financial administration of SARM involves the general operations of SARM along with numerous services and programs delivered to SARM members. The SARM office is located at 2221 Cornwall Street, in Regina, SK.

Main Responsibilities
- Process accounts receivable invoices, including the entry of invoices and importing of invoices from excel spreadsheets.
- Process payments received by SARM (cheques and credit card payments).
- Send monthly statements to customers and monitor accounts receivables and follow-up on past due invoices.
- Process accounts payable invoices.
- Provide support for the processing of payments (cheques and EFT payments).
- Analysis and reconciliation of accounts.
- Maintaining and updating Excel spreadsheets.

Skills and Knowledge
- Experience working with an automated financial system, particularly with respect to the inputting of transactions.
- Experience working with Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and a desire for continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

The successful candidate will possess a diploma or certificate in accounting, or have the equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
