Position Overview:
As the Operations Lead, you will manage the daily and cyclical operations and housekeeping activities of our specialty seed facility and research farm in Aberdeen - north of Saskatoon, SK. You will be an active Safety Champion by conducting monthly safety facility inspections and auditing contractors for compliance to SS&O's safety rules. You will also manage and develop construction and safety plans and provide administration and maintenance of computerized systems and the plant growth chambers.

Qualifications:
Required:
Post-secondary education in Agriculture, facility management studies, related field , or suitable combination of experience and education
2 years experience in day to day operational management requirements of a Commercial facility
Possession of a valid Class 5G Saskatchewan drivers License or ability to obtain
Working knowledge of EHS rules and regulations
Basic knowledge of plant breeding and plant pathology
Project management experience
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis
Preferred:
B.Sc. in Environmental studies, Engineering or comparable
Agricultural background including farm equipment operation, general maintenance, and repair
5 years facility management experience
Experience and application of Cargill EHS policies and procedures
2 years experience in research facility management
Advanced knowledge of facility construction
Experience with contractor sourcing, supervision, and safety
Shop skills including basic metal fabrication including cutting, welding and machine design
