General Sandblasting & Painting is currently looking for motivated, hard-working individuals who have experience with Abrasive Sandblasting.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, hold a valid Class 5 (or greater class) drivers' license, obtain negative results upon completion of pre-access drug and alcohol screening, and meet the physical requirements to perform average lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 0 pounds.
The candidate will also demonstrate:
-The willingness to work as an effective team player.
-Ability to follow tasks safely and efficiently.
-Knowledge/ability to prepare surfaces in accordance with NACE Standards.
-Knowledge of several different types of blast media.
-Ability to operate the abrasive blasting equipment.
-Ability to operate mobile blast units.
Ability to work on scaffolding, staging, ladders and man lifts at heights up to 50'.
-Ability to work in a confined space.
This position is responsible for the surface preparation on tanks, both internal and external, pipe spools, structural steel, etc. as well as housekeeping, prepping jobs, clean up for painting and coating, and any other tasks that need to be completed. The position is subject to environmental elements, as most of the work is performed out doors in extreme heat, or extreme cold, position is also subject to high noise levels, vibration, and other atmospheric conditions.
Position is subject to unscheduled overtime, night work and/or rotating shifts.
