Description

Palliser Regional Park is looking for a Pool Supervisor/Instructor/Lifeguard for the upcoming 2015 season. Duties include:
-Provide management/lifeguard duties and instruction services and related reception.  Key responsibility is to ensure the safety, security, and enjoyment of the Park's water facilities.  Reporting to Park Management the successful candidate must:
- schedule, train and supervise aquatic staff as well as lifeguard;
-organize and manage staff, activities, and events;
-have previous experience managing, supervising, teaching, and leading others in an aquatic environment;
-teach instructional swimming lessons;
-prepare lesson plans, test sheets, record cards and certificates;
-communicate and implement pool policies, safety rules, emergency procedures;
-possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.  Understand and provide excellent customer service and solutions to problems that may arise;
-suggest ways of improving pool operations and cost-effectiveness;
-operate, monitor and adjust systems to ensure the safety of pool.  Test water and maintain a safe and clean pool/deck to prevent accidents or injury. Check and ensure all emergency equipment is ready and identify repair or replacement;
-be able to recognize, react quickly, and think clearly when emergency situations arise and lead/assist local emergency services and/or law enforcement authorities when required;
-have knowledge of lifesaving and emergency care procedures and practices specific to the Park's services and emergency plans;
-possess current National Lifeguard Certification, Lifesaving Society Instructor or Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, CPR, and Red Cross first aid certification.  Individual must be physically fit;

Hours of work may vary, so flexibility is required.  The candidate will be in possession of knowledge of the Sask. Swimming Pool Regulations, and OH&S requirements.
