I am a 21 year old male that is a level C-5 quadriplegic and looking for a live in caregiver. I have no feeling or movement from my upper chest down, have no tricep, finger or hand function. I DO have bicep, wrist flexion, and neck and shoulder function. I can still move my arms enough to do some things such as feed myself, use my phone, grab some things and wheel myself around anywhere on my property. I would need him/ her to do things like take me(with my wheelchair accessible van) to get groceries, take me to appointments (Can be booked to accommodate caretaker schedule), occasionally give minimal assistance in necessities such as catheterizing, getting dressed, transferring to and from bed (less help needed to transfer with practice on my part), cook supper once a day for us both and few other small things. I would need about 2-3 max combined hours of assistance per day along with making supper each day. He/she could work a part time or full time job (if hours are appropriate) as well as helping/living with me. Employee would have their own room and access to internet, tv, pool table, fireplace, garage storage and any other amenities in my home. I would need them to begin/move in sometime between July and August. Im more interested in finding someone who i get along with well, has a schedule that fits mine, speaks and reads fluent English and that is committed long term more then I'm worried about experience.
