Description

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 220 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. FCL invites applications for the position of Web & Communications Editorial Technician.

Reporting to the Web and Communications Writer Supervisor, the Web & Communications Editorial Technician is responsible for:

1. Write, record, edit, design and proof content and visuals for FCLs web site, social media and other corporate communications according to corporate standards and formats.
2. Serve as in-house support for the online experience.
3. Support overall growth of the corporate intranet, public website and various social media vehicles.
4. Assist in the development of editorial, brand and web style, standards and formats.
5. Support contributing writers, content providers and local administrators.
6. Ensure content is aligned with companys vision, mission, values and business goals.
7. Handle confidential and other sensitive information in a professional manner.
8.Other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify for this position, applicants must possess:

1. University degree (preferably in a communications related field).
2. 2-3 years of related experience working with social media tools, video-editing, web-editing software and web content management systems.
3. Basic ability to capture photos, video and audio with experience in related editing software.
4. Above average writing, editing, proofing and creative skills.
