Reporting to the Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities include:
Maintain, service and overhaul mobile mining equipment and miscellaneous stationary diesel engines on site
Using diagnostic equipment that includes but is not limited to computerized software
Must complete 7200 hrs. (4 years) of schooling and on job training. Sickness, holidays and L.O.A. not considered as training time
Work effectively with Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanics and Planner to ensure that maintenance requirements are met
Periodically work with Automotive Mechanics as requested
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
Comply with article 29 Apprenticeship Program of the CBA
All previous related school or work experience will be considered
Must produce transcripts from all previous schooling or/and training
All candidates must agree to participate in an aptitude and academic assessment to be done after all other qualifications are met
Must attend and successfully complete the annual academic requirements for the trade.
Strong computer skills an asset
Work in a shop environment
Previous heavy duty mechanical experience an asset
The successful candidate must have tools as per tool list provide by supervisor
Preference will be given to residents of Saskatchewans North
Candidate must currently be working as a Trades Helper in the Services Group
Work Location & Schedule: McClean Lake - 7 in /7 out - 77 hours/week
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and Wollaston
