SED Systems specializes in developing complex hardware and software systems for cable, telecommunications, satellite communications, and defense applications. SED operates out of a custom-built facility in a beautiful research and development park adjacent to the University of Saskatchewan.
The successful applicant will provide Information Technology support to our project teams. Our teams develop software for systems that include real-time equipment control, complex proprietary communication protocols, high-availability/scalable architectures, and graphical user interfaces featuring sophisticated real-time updates and complex data visualizations.
IT support activities include: the set up and configuration of computer systems and virtual machines; updating and installing new software services such as automatic build tools and other development tools.
This position will be of interest to candidates with:
At least three years of a university program leading towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics (with multiple Computer Science or equivalent classes) or one year towards a Computer Systems Technology Diploma;
The ability to integrate well into a team environment, to quickly solve complex problems, and to easily adapt to new technologies; and,
Proficiency in C++ or Java.
The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory.
