As the Technologist II, Regional Systems, you will perform operation and maintenance work, laboratory and field testing, meter reading and prepare required operational, maintenance, regulatory and status reports within an assigned regional water and wastewater system. The regional water and wastewater system may include SaskWater or customer owned water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution/transmission and wastewater collection systems. This employee will be required to work different shifts including on weekends and to provide emergency standby coverage 24 hours per day for a designated service area.
To qualify, you will have a diploma in Water Resources Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, and have 18 months of related experience including a working knowledge of water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes and procedures. You will also be certified with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) as an Associate member. Certification with SASTT as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) is required to be obtained. Certification in Water Treatment 1, Water Distribution 1, Wastewater Treatment 1 and Wastewater Collection 1 is required to be obtained in accordance with the Operator Certification Board requirements or existing industry reciprocity agreements. You are an honest, dependable and accountable individual who focuses on work activities, looks for solutions and is a skilled troubleshooter. You are also a team player who promotes positive work relationships.
Where the minimum educational requirement is not met, an equivalent combination of training, knowledge and experience will be considered.
A valid Saskatchewan drivers licence is required.
