Residential Construction Production Managers (RCPM) plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate residential construction projects from start to finish according to a schedule, specifications and a budget. This occupation includes coordinating the work of many skilled tradespersons and suppliers, as well as, managing site foreman. RCPMs play a significant role in planning and implementing quality control for home construction, jobsite safety and in ensuring current building code requirements are followed. The scope of work is limited to wood frame non-commercial buildings and residences up to four stories in height.
Responsibilities:
- Manage construction projects from start to finish, according to a schedule, specifications, and a budget
- Ensuring safety protocols and practices are met in accordance with current Occupational Health and Safety regulations and company policy
- Utilize administrative reporting, budgeting and scheduling skills to coordinate, track, and report the progress of construction projects
- Cost analysis
- Coordinate tradespersons, suppliers and manage Site Foreman
- Work to ensure any deficiencies are dealt with in a timely manner
Skill sets required for this position are, but not limited to, the ability to multi task, delegate, organize schedules, manage and mentor employees, problem solving, understand the urgency and timeliness of scheduling that relates to rotating trades through multiple projects. Must have knowledge of OH&S regulations and building codes.
The right candidate has a successful record in a position of similar scope, content and seniority. With a minimum of 5 years experience as a Construction Manager. Preferably, has an established presence in the Saskatoon market and a good reputation within the local home building industry.
