Responsible for assisting departments with general tasks. Able to work independently on routine tasks and work cooperatively with other departments. Accuracy is essential. Field work may be required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Canada Post mail duties, prepare branch library materials bins (packing, unpacking, sorting), load delivery van, maintain materials inventory, perform repairs and assist with filing Regional Office branch stock. Add and pack materials and paperback exchanges, assist with unpacking and checking in materials. Assist with taking vehicles for servicing as needed, participate in staff development and meetings. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Completion of grade twelve, valid Saskatchewan drivers license (candidates interviewed will be asked to provide a current driving record), ability to repetitively lift 45 lbs/20.4 kg on a daily basis, basic computer skills and keyboarding, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work cooperatively and be diplomatic and flexible, ability to organize work and meet deadlines.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Library experience is an asset. Experience with integrated library systems (ie: Millennium or Sierra).
