Description

Responsibilities:
    Manage Hardlines and Softlines departments;
    Ensure departments comply with all merchandising guidelines, established processes and procedures;
    Plan and prepare for  merchandising planograms, monitor stock levels, prepare for advertisements, flyers, seasonal items and/or promotions;
    Manage overall store appearance, merchandising standards and department inventory levels;
    Have a basic knowledge of products that Cabela's carries, maintain a strong presence on the sales floor, assist customers on the floor during peak sale periods, providing a positive influence on department managers, leads and sales associates;
    Effectively facilitate change and implement new programs;
    Monitor customer service trends; track customer sales statistics and identify opportunities for improvement;
    Interview and hire qualified employees;
    Coach and develop department managers, leads and employees by conducting performance reviews, documenting performance issues and performing disciplinary action when necessary;
    Perform Manager on Duty tasks, including dealing with any customer, employee, or store related issues;
    Facilitate morning and evening rally meetings to keep employees informed about in-store events; and
    Perform store opening, closing, End of Day e-mail report and cash out.

Qualifications:
    Four or more years of retail management experience at a senior level;
    Knowledge of and experience in a computerized, inventory management environment;
    Firearms possession and acquisition license (PAL) is preferred;
    Excellent leadership and management skills;
    Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively;
    Proficient in office software packages, MS Office preferred;
    Knowledge and/or experience in outdoor activities and associated products preferred and;
    Proven ability to work in a dynamic, continuous improvement environment.
