The George Gordon First Nation is seeking a highly motivated, mature individual with strong values and leadership skills. Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Operations, the Housing Manager shall be responsible for administration and management of all residential units. The successful candidate will be capable of independent decision making based on knowledge of housing procedures and regulations. The primary function of this position is to ensure the Housing Dept operates efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Business Admin Diploma preferred; combination of education and experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of CMHC program
-Working knowledge of band based capital funding
- Valid Class 5 Sk driver's licence
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and database programs
- Good organizational skills
- Effective oral & written communication skills
- Experience preparing financial budgets and reports
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all residential units
- Plan long range schedule for maintenance and repairs on residential units; and maintain schedule
- Prepare housing agreements and any other related documentation
- Work closely with technical and professional services to ensure quality
- Understand and be knowledgeable of Band Based Housing programs, RRAP, Section 95, HASI and other proposal driven programs
- Maintain & keep current housing database records, files & programs
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Operations
- Coordinate & attend housing authority meetings
- Development and monitor operational budgets
- Provide written reports to Director of Operations
