Fujitsu Canada is looking for a MS-SQL Database Administrator for our IS Group in our Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada location.
Position will be integral to the Fujitsu Database infrastructure strategy, security, and currency planning. Position will also provide world class system infrastructure design solutions for prospective clients on an as-needed basis. Must be a problem solver able to identify and solve complex IT issues without supervision.
Duties:
Performs day to day monitoring and maintenance of diverse installed base of SQL & MySQL servers including systems infrastructure stability, availability, patching, and security compliance.
Creates and maintains library of documentation for all equipment, processes, and procedures including detailed build procedure documents.
Maintains an accurate inventory of existing DB installations to provide server resource information for projects and for client billing.
Insures all systems are backed up and mirrored to disaster recovery sites (by interfacing with the separate Backup and Recovery team).
Participates in regular disaster recovery exercises.
Qualifications:
4+ years experience in an enterprise level distributed environment (SAN, Virtual, UNIX, Windows, Data Center)
4+ years SQL experience in an enterprise environment
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LDAP, DNS SMTP and other networking areas.
Proficiency in enterprise storage technologies such as NAS and Storage Area Networking, and Backup & Recovery.
Microsoft Certifications (such as MCSE, MCSA, MCP, MCTS)
Advanced technical knowledge and experience in UNIX and Windows server environments
Advanced knowledge of security and compliance standards such as Sox and PCI DSS
Working knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and PolyServe.
