Reporting to the Chief Mine Maintenance Engineer, the Continuous Improvement Engineer will be primarily responsible for identifying activities, procedures and equipment in the mine that pose higher than usual levels of risk with a focus on worker safety. This position will also be responsible to manage and implement remedial activities which can be a combination of multi disciplinary engineering projects, procedural changes and equipment specification and procurement. The position will be required to work closely with Mine Operations both in the field and as a facilitator for brainstorming of ideas and communication of progress and updates.
The successful candidate shall have a degree or diploma in Engineering with 5+ years of experience. Preference will be given to those with a mining or mechanical background. Specific experience working in mining or construction is required. Candidates must also demonstrate willingness to participate in safe operations, be part of a team, have good organization and time management skills.
