Primary Responsibilities
Supervise and lead the plant production staff in a Biosecure environment under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) conditions.
Dealing with plant crops having pharmaceutical application, evaluate, recommend and implement improvements of production and to recommend updates to the Standard Operating Procedures.
The most challenging aspect of the position is analyzing the operation and scheduling staff productively to meet production quotas and target specifications.
Work closely with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure a team approach to quality at all stages of production.
Responsible for ensuring all staff members comply with security protocols.
This position reports as part of a senior management team under the CEOs supervision.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Biology, Plant Science, or a relative field is a requirement
- Experience in intensive agriculture or horticulture operations would be considered an asset.
- 5 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with a pharmaceutical manufacturing company is an asset but not required.
- Superior project management skills
- Experience working with quality systems including drug GMPs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills; team player and builder
- Goal oriented; superior organizational skills
- Effective computer skills for data logging and reporting are required.
