Description

The Opportunity Available:
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Assistant Supervisor will provide office administration and operational support services to the members of the Lloydminster Municipal RCMP Detachment.  

Specific duties include:
1. Assist the Office Manager, RCMP Admin with all detachment financial and administrative operations
2. Preparation of weekly work schedules for support staff
3. Hiring, training and coaching all assigned staff in accordance with approved personnel policies and the collective agreement
4. Manage, supervise, and discipline in-scope staff in accordance with all policies, procedures and the governing collective agreement
5. Represent the Lloydminster Municipal RCMP Detachment as an expert resource by preparing and/or conducting presentations and lectures at seminars, conferences and training courses
6. Assist in the development of the Crime Reduction Strategy programs

Hours will consist of shift work, (predominately days, however some evenings and weekends may be required) based on 40 hours per week.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of a university degree, preferably in criminology or related field, or other appropriately related analytical or research training in criminology, criminal justice, sociology and/or urban planning
- Two to five years of experience in a supervisory position; preference will be given to those with supervisory experience in police or municipal settings
- Experience in policing or government environment that clearly demonstrates increasing responsibility in crime analysis and research.  (Business related analytical experience may be considered)
- Must be able to obtain (and retain) a RCMP issued Top Secret Security Clearance
