We are currently recruiting for 2 Special Needs Assistant positions with the CSMFRC Childrens Summer Fun Program. The successful candidates will be assisting in the delivery of the Summer Fun Program to children with special needs between the ages 5-10.
Full time (40 Hours per week) employment last two weeks in July and second week in August working between the hours of 7:45am and 4:45pm at Detachment Dundurn. The hourly rate of pay is $15.50.
Qualifications:
Experience working with special needs children Grades 1 to 6 an asset
Strong leadership skills
Self motivated and energetic
Reliable
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervising one child with special needs during Summer Fun Program
Assisting child with special needs during meal time.
Help child with special needs be included with group activities.
Ensure safety of the children at all times.
Maintain strict confidentiality. All information pertaining to children, families, and staff are confidential at all times.
Participate in facilitated events when required (pool, sporting events) as needed by child with special needs.
Adapt programming to child with special needs, if needed.
Maintain communication book for family regarding the child with special needs daily activities, successes, and issues.
