Responsibilities include:
Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisors on the floor to ensure that the appropriate number of hours is scheduled for each worker for the following day
Assume the responsibility to ensure that no work is scheduled unless the proper materials are available. A physical check to see that the right materials are on site is required, and when practical, gathering the materials together for the tradesman for the upcoming day (kitting materials)
Ensure that the scheduled work is able to be completed through consideration to all requirements such as scaffolding, crane, other equipment needs, etc.
Organize the work orders for each tradesman for the next day. The work orders and individual tradesman work scheduled must be attached as a package that will be given to the supervisor by the end or the current work day
Become familiar with and organize direct charge materials and parts located in our storage areas
Assist in planning where possible and as required
Efforts/Demands of the Position
Ensure that all data gathering equipment, techniques, and procedures are correct
Assess mill maintenance from a technical viewpoint, report mechanical deficiencies to mill maintenance senior supervision and provide suggestions for further ratification
Organize and conduct plant investigations to evaluate or improve plant maintenance
Compile reports on work as required
Ensure that all quality and agency compliance standards are met
Skills and Qualifications for the position include5
Must have considerable maintenance experience
Journeyman Certificate
Must have strong supervisory skills
Must have good communication skills both written and oral
Must be computer literate and familiar with SAP PM module is an asset
