Job Summary:

A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE ([HN) IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ASSESSMENT, PLANNING IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION OF THE HEALTH AND HEALTH RISKS FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN PRINCE ALBERT PARKLAND HEALTH REGION. A PHNS SCOPE OF PRACTICE REQUIRES A BROAD KNOWLEDGE BASE AND AUTONOOUS DECISION MAKING DKILLS. A PHN ALSO PROVICES CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT TO A WIDE ARRAY OF PROFESSIONALS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE WORKS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MANAGER OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING.
Experience:
CANDIDATES WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR RECENT RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.
Qualifications:
?    Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
?    Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
?    Valid class 5 drivers license
Knowledge and Skills:
?    Ability to competently use computers and software applications as required by the position
?    Advanced communication skills
?    Knowledge and ability to apply community healthy nursing theory and princles
?    Knowledge in public health concepts
?    Knowledge of growth and development of newborns, children, adolescents and adults.
?    Maintenance of required competencies related to management of anaphytaxis, and immunization.
?    Working knowledge in health promotion
