Description

The YMCA of Moose Jaw is currently seeking a part time temporary Kindercamp Counselor. The hours of this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 4:00pm from June 29 to August 14.

Throughout the summer our Summer Kinder Camp Counselors work with children ages 3-6 implementing a fully inclusive high energy summer in the City of Moose Jaw.  Counselors are part of a strong program team and will provide leadership and creativity to all YMCA kindercamp programming.

This position requires personal commitment to the values and principles of the YMCA and the participants we serve. The counselor will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the work and will be able to thrive in an atmosphere of change.  He/she will have the ability to achieve planned results through personal initiative following the Associations guidelines and policies.  The successful candidate will inspire those around him/her with a strong work ethic, initiative and customer/child focused attitude and approach.

Qualifications & Requirements
-Registered in a College or University program, preferably recreation, early childhood development, social work, education or any other applicable field of study
-1-2 years of experience working with children and youth
-Outgoing and able to thrive in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
-Experience with program development
-Current First Aid and CPR Level C
-Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Welfare Check issued no later  6 months  preceding your start date  
-Valid Drivers License
-Adherence to YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures
