The City of Weyburn is a dynamic, progressive municipality located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan.  The City has a population of over 10,500 and a solid economic and community foundation on which new and exciting opportunities are continuously built.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, service orientated, dynamic leader with proven skills, knowledge and abilities to fill the position of Deputy Fire Chief.

The Weyburn Fire Department is a composite fire service made up of 6 career staff and 32 paid on call fire fighters.  The Weyburn Fire Department is a well-equipped, innovative fire service that enjoys positive labour relations and strong support from Senior Administration and City Council.  

The Deputy Fire Chief will be responsible for:
- the effective supervision of all assigned employees while complying with policies, procedures and OH&S regulations;
- the planning, administration, and delivery of the fire prevention, public education, training and emergency management programs;
- providing leadership and communication as a co-chair of the departments OH&S committee;
- assisting with the planning and supervision of all operational activities and systems, data management, contract services, budget and financial management of Fire Department programs, as well as enhancing customer relations;
- performing the duties of Fire Chief in the absence of the Fire Chief;
- perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge and Specific Training:
- post secondary education in the areas of Fire Operations;
- minimum two years of progressive municipal fire service experience;
- superior interpersonal and communication skills;
- excellent public relations, team building and organization skills;
- valid Saskatchewan Class 3A drivers license.
Annual salary range: $64,584 - $77,500 based on experience
