RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively participate in and operate within the terminal Safety Program in compliance with Lafarge Canada Incs safety and environmental policies
- General labour related duties and cleanup
- Operation and daily maintenance of rail unloading and bulk truck loading equipment
- Unload bulk railcars and load bulk semi-trucks
- Operate a forklift to load and unload packaged cement
- When required, supervise and direct contractors on site
- Supervision and direction of truck/railway carriers activities on site
- Inventory control
- Terminal Housekeeping
- Other associated duties that the employee is trained for
QUALIFICATION PROFILE:
- Demonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and others
- Mechanical aptitude a positive attribute
- Time and self-management skills
- Physically fit to encompass labor requirements of role
- Demonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multi-tasking
- Maintains composure to deal with difficult situations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy: including Excel, Word programs a benefit
- Understanding of building materials industry, including cement product knowledge an asset
Pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing and a criminal record check may be required.
