Description

Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) is a Crown corporation of the province of Saskatchewan. Operating since 1946, we provide safe, reliable, affordable, and accessible passenger and freight service to Saskatchewan communities.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Customer Services, this position is responsible for ensuring the depot and surrounding property is clean and well-maintained for customers, staff, and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and care for building and facilities in order to ensure they are maintained in a healthy and safe manner
- Perform manual duties related to routine janitorial and maintenance work in and around the property
- Operate manual and powered cleaning and grounds equipment
- Prepare cleaning chemicals for usage while ensuring established cleaning procedures and safety protocols are followed
- Log and report any maintenance or equipment issues and customer concerns
- Perform minor repair and maintenance work
- Perform frequent inspections on heating and cooling equipment
- Other related duties as required

Qualifications:
- General knowledge of standard cleaning procedures
- WHMIS certification or the ability to successfully complete WHMIS training within three months of hire
- Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the application and use of cleaning chemicals and products
- Skill in operating a variety of cleaning and maintenance equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to perform work of a physical nature, at times in inclement weather
- Evening and weekend availability
