Description

Reporting to the Director of Development the Development Officers primary function is to coordinate and facilitate the advancement of the Colleges annual giving and alumni programs.  The work involves a variety of duties including; donor relations, communications, corporate sponsorship, alumni relations and event management.

This department is made up of the Director of Development, Development Officer, Development Assistant and SunDogs Athletics & Recreation Coordinator.  The responsibility of this unit is focused on three main objectives;
- Enhancement of the reputation of Great Plains College as a post-secondary leader in Southwestern Saskatchewan
- Increased connection between Great Plains College and its alumni, its local communities and provincial industry
- Commitment by local stakeholders to the development outcomes of Great Plains College.

These objectives will be achieved through the accomplishment of 4 main outcomes;
    Annual Giving
    Planned Giving
    Major Gifts
    Varsity Athletics

Qualifications:
The Development Officer should bring the following qualifications to this position:
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal and presentation
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni and partners
- Knowledge and experience developing and implementing annual giving programs
- Ability to balance and interact with a large number of clients at one time
- Two or more years of experience working in the field of fundraising  preferably in a post-secondary setting
- Four year University Degree in a related field (commerce/business administration, public relations, communications or marketing)
- A combination of education and a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification or other professional fundraising certification may be considered
