The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Finance Clerk II in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Administrator, the Finance Clerk II position is responsible for supporting the finance department by accurately processing cheques, EFT transactions, bill payments and miscellaneous requisitions related to accounts payable, travel reimbursements, and purchase orders in accordance with the Financial Management Act
Maintain financial management systems and procedures
Ensure all documentation has appropriate coding and signatures
Review and process invoice and bill payments as approved to ensure accuracy
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
Ensure cheques are distributed in the appropriate manner
Follow proper procedures for reversing payments, voiding cheques, and ensuring expenses are coded to the appropriate departments
Process bi-weekly travel reimbursement which includes verifying rates and appropriate receipts are attached for travel reimbursement and deduct any travel advance payments issued
Process payroll
Process monthly Student Allowances
Ensure Accounts Payable is balanced at month end
Respond to vendor and employee inquiries in a courteous and prompt manner
Maintain accurate accounts payable records
Prepare memos and correspondence as required
Miscellaneous general office duties as assigned such as photocopying, faxing and filing.
Maintaining accurate financial management records
Order office supplies
Process Purchase Orders
Assist with Courtworkers claim submissions
Maintain YTC Contracts as they pertain to the Financial Management Act
Record all telephone, fax and cellular expenses. Track any overages exceeding YTC limits and collect from employee
Back up the ACCPAC Accounting system daily
