The Volunteer Resources Coordinator is responsible for implementation of the volunteer resources strategic plan to support regional collection plans, priorities and objectives. The Coordinator is responsible for volunteer recruitment, selection, training, scheduling, supervision, performance assessment and recognition. The Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining all volunteer program standards and systems in accordance with the volunteer-involvement risk management framework.
Required Skills:
Post-secondary level education in Volunteer Management, Human Resources, or other related field.
-Certification from a recognized professional association (Canadian Association of Volunteer Resources Administrators or Association for Volunteer Administration).
-Completion of Volunteer Resources Management certificate program is preferred.
-Experience working with volunteers and volunteer groups.
-Experience working in a large, complex and regulatory environment is preferred.
-A combination of education and on the job experience will also be accepted.
-Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
-Minimum two years experience in volunteer program management.
-Well developed interpersonal and communications skills are essential.
-Demonstrated skills in volunteer management, planning and problem solving.
-Demonstrated computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
-Public speaking and presentation skills.
-Ability to work in an integrated and multidisciplinary team.
-Valid drivers license is required.
