Description

Major Responsibilities
1. Work with leaders to create an environment where associates feel comfortable to openly exchange ideas
and concerns. Drive associate engagement by actively promoting Sears Vision, Mission, Values and
upholding Sears policies. Communicate regularly with associates, bringing forward their concerns to the
appropriate department or individual and following up to ensure timely resolution.
2. Provide advice/guidance to leaders on the issues concerning associates and assist them in finding
resolutions. Ensure associates are provided opportunities to express themselves by having regularly
scheduled staff conferences with notes taken, posted, followed up on and communicated back to the
associates. Respond to all inquiries from associates and consult with management team to address the
issues raised, escalating serious concerns to the Human Resources Manager
3. Manage the unit level administration of all Human Resources related programs and activities for the
assigned unit(s), including recognition/celebrations of associates that assist in building a culture of
engagement. Manage local Human Resources administration responsibilities, i.e. CTBRs, associate
files, roll out of corporate communication, payroll and timekeeping, etc. Refer associates to the HRSC
or Program Providers for information on corporate programs or questions on eligibility, benefits,
pensions, WSIB and the updating of personal information affecting these programs.
4. Assist management on responding to associate performance improvement (PIP), disciplinary, and
termination issues. Consult with Human Resources Manager on related issues, and refer more complex
issues as required. Administer the tracking of the program.
